Operation L.I.F.T. (Leadership Intensive For Teens)

Operation L.I.F.T., is a 4 month / 14 week learning and growth experience, sponsored by 100 Black Men of Macon-Middle Georgia, Inc., that will offer the following to selected youth from Macon/Bibb County Georgia:

- Encourage positive self-perception (personal mission, vision, and values)

Identify SMART career goal(s)
- Develop a personal brand and skills to influence others
- Build and manage a support network
- Instill service orientation as leadership trait
- Increase number of participants pursuing post-secondary education - Scholarships offered to individuals successfully completing requirements
- Deepen employment and computer skills, workforce preparation
ACTIVITIES
- Four Saturday classroom sessions, one per month, May - August
- Follow-up assignments
- Weekly personal one-on-one mentoring with 100 Black Men of Macon-Middle Georgia member
- Academic advising, college application support by counselor
- Participants and Parents Orientation
- Get Acquainted, Team Building
- Structured computer lab sessions - resume, final presentation
- Job interview simulations videotaped - copy of tape
- Service project and voter registration (>18 years)
- Job/Career Shadowing opportunity
- Program awards ceremony/closing event
- Post program referrals, support, mentoring
Each individual must commit to completing the 14 week program, attending the classroom seminars, and executing his/her action plan.
